Earlobe Repair: Restoring Confidence with Precision and Care
Through my role as Medical Director of the Rush-Copley Wound Center, I’ve developed extensive experience in skin surgery and advanced wound-healing techniques. This experience directly translates to precise, cosmetically focused earlobe repair procedures performed in my office.
Earlobe damage is more common than many realize. Whether from heavy earrings, accidental pulling, or prior gauge use, the earlobe can become split, elongated, or thinned over time. While understandably frustrating, the good news is that these concerns are highly repairable.
What Is Earlobe Repair?
Earlobe repair is a minor, in-office procedure performed under local anesthesia. During the procedure, I carefully remove the damaged tissue and reconstruct the natural contour of the earlobe using precise suturing techniques. The goal is a smooth, natural appearance with minimal visible scarring.
What to Expect
- The procedure typically takes about one hour
- Performed comfortably in the office with local anesthesia
- Minimal downtime—most patients return to normal activities the following day
- Sutures are removed within 1–2 weeks
- Re-piercing is often possible after complete healing (typically 6–8 weeks)
This is a highly personalized procedure. Every earlobe is unique, and I take care to tailor each repair to your anatomy and your goals—whether that means restoring a natural appearance or preparing for future re-piercing.
As with all care in my practice, this service is delivered in a concierge setting, allowing for unhurried attention, meticulous technique, and thoughtful follow-up to support optimal healing and cosmetic results.
If you—or someone you know—has been bothered by a torn or stretched earlobe, I would be happy to discuss whether repair is right for you. Consultations are free, and I encourage anyone interested to schedule a conversation to learn more.
